Jason leads the Agile Program Office at ARCA, a technology company in the cash automations industry in Mebane, NC. He coaches and mentors scrum masters, product owners, teams, and chief product owners within the R&D, Engineering, and Production divisions of the company. He harnesses the leadership, coaching, facilitation, and team-building skills gained after years of agile project management for complex projects for the U.S. Army. He works with product development teams to become self-organized and adopt agile principles and values. He is currently working to scale agile practices and the scrum process across the enterprise of over 190 engineers and 21 teams. He has implemented a lean-agile approach to this transformation to link development work to the production line. Drawing on skills as a Scrum for Hardware trainer, Jason also coaches the production and quality teams on the operations side of the company.
Jason attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY before obtaining a commission as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army. He then served seven years in variety of leadership and agile project management roles in parachute infantry units and deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. During the latter years of his military service, Jason served as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at East Carolina University Army ROTC where he also completed his graduate work. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a graduate certificate in marketing analytics from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville in Louisville, KY. He resigned his commission and joined ARCA as a Scrum Master before assuming his current role as the Director of the Agile PMO. Jason lives with his wife, Shaina, and their daughters in Apex, NC. His hobbies include spending time with his family, skydiving, whitewater kayaking, mounting biking, and golf (when he finds the time). He is an avid reader and loves learning new things.
